CASE STUDY

Trinidad and Tobago - Competitive Ranking and Assessment

The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago retained Tourism Intelligence International in 1999 to evaluate and assess the competitiveness of the Trinidad and Tobago Economy.

Tourism Intelligence International worked in partnership with the Harvard Institute and used the methodology developed by the World Economic Forum in carrying out this study. We analysed the quantitative indicators of Trinidad and Tobago's economic performance, technological capacity and infrastructure taken from a wide variety of published sources. An Executive Opinion Survey measuring the perceptions of leading business executives about Trinidad and Tobago was conducted during January-February 1998.

Tourism Intelligence International launched a survey of companies in Trinidad and Tobago and prepared the Competitiveness Report for the Trinidad & Tobago Economy. Results were presented to the Central Bank.
